The CB series centrifugal barrel machine with automatic discharge uses the same high-energy centrifugal mechanism as the manual CB30A — four fixed barrels counter-rotating on a turret — but adds automatic mass discharge at end of cycle, where the entire barrel contents discharge onto an integrated vibratory separator. This is the production-scale version of the centrifugal barrel range, covering 30 L to 320 L across 14 model configurations.
The CB series uses four fixed barrels mounted symmetrically on a rotating turret. As the turret rotates, each barrel counter-rotates, generating centrifugal forces up to 20 G in the smaller models (CB30 range) and progressively lower G-forces in the larger models (CB160–CB320) due to their larger radius and lower speed rating. The 20 G centrifugal environment drives small media — including superfine porcelain pins as small as 1×3 mm — into slots, holes and cavities on parts with forces far exceeding what vibratory or rotary barrel machines can generate. This is why CB machines achieve isotropic surface finish: media reaches all surfaces simultaneously from all directions.
At end of cycle, the turret tilts and all four barrels discharge their contents simultaneously onto an integrated vibratory separation screen. The screen retains parts and passes media through for re-use. The CB series covers 14 model configurations from CB30A (30 L, 2.2 kW, 0–170 rpm) to CB320 (320 L, 11 kW, 0–88 rpm), spanning jewellery components through large gear parts. Automatic discharge eliminates manual barrel removal and emptying — the key advantage over the manual CB30A for production environments where labour cost and throughput matter.
For very high-value or delicate parts where any part-on-part contact during the centrifugal cycle is not acceptable, an optional divider slot system is available. The divider is a custom-sized insert that fits inside the barrel and holds each part in a separate compartment, preventing contact with other parts throughout the cycle. Media circulates through the divider slots and finishes all part surfaces. Custom slot size is specified at order stage based on part dimensions. This option is commonly used for medical implants, watch cases, delicate jewelry pieces and thin-walled precision components.
The CB series with automatic discharge is the production-scale centrifugal barrel machine. It shares the same high-energy centrifugal finishing mechanism as the manual CB30A — four barrels counter-rotating at up to 170 rpm on a turret — but the discharge is automated: at end of cycle, barrels tilt and discharge all contents onto an integrated vibratory separator, which separates parts from media automatically. This makes the CB series the right choice when batch volume, throughput and labour efficiency matter, while the manual CB30A remains the choice for very small batches of high-value parts requiring controlled individual barrel unloading.
The CB series covers the widest capacity range in the centrifugal barrel range: from CB30 (30 L) for dental, jewelry and small precision components, through CB80 and CB120 for mid-size production batches, up to CB320 (320 L) for large automotive, aerospace and industrial components. All models share the same isotropic finishing capability: the centrifugal environment reaches all part surfaces simultaneously, producing a finish that is uniform in all directions and not achievable by hand polishing.
CB Series Centrifugal barrel machine with automatic discharge have the size between 30L to 320L. It is suitable for small jewelry parts as well as huge gear components.
Centrifugal barrel finishers are a high energy mass finishing machine. It succeeds a lot of finish jobs in a short time. High gravity forces from work chamber allow small media to access slots and cavities on parts. These machines are the most efficient and fastest tumbling machines that are supplied by Inovatec.
Either aggressive material removal or mirror polishing, CB series machine can achieve isotropic finish quickly. After finishing, the entire parts’ surface is smooth and even in all directions, and it is hard to achieve by hand polishing.

Time & productivity – A highly cost-effective solution for batch finishing. Compared with manual deburring and polishing, it can reduce labor requirements by over 90%, freeing operators for higher-value tasks and improving overall throughput.
Fast processing – The 4 fixed-barrel configuration enables high-energy finishing and can generate centrifugal forces of up to 20 G, delivering smooth, efficient results in significantly shorter cycle times.
Safety – By minimizing manual handling and hand-finishing operations, the machine helps reduce the risk of operator injury and improves workplace safety—while providing a more convenient and consistent finishing process than handwork.
A centrifugal barrel machine is a high-energy mass finishing system engineered for precise, efficient surface treatment. It uses multiple barrels mounted on a rotating turret: as the turret spins, each barrel counter-rotates, generating strong centrifugal force that drives parts and media into intensive, controlled contact. This high-pressure finishing action enables rapid deburring, polishing, and surface refinement with excellent consistency and repeatability.
Centrifugal barrel machines are ideal for:
Small, intricate, or delicate components
Parts with tight tolerances and complex geometries
Precision-focused industries such as medical, aerospace, electronics, jewelry, and automotive
Common applications include orthopedic implants, surgical instruments, aerospace fasteners, watch components, and small precision-machined parts.
Faster cycle times – typically 5–20× quicker than traditional finishing methods, boosting throughput.
Superior finishing quality – ideal for mirror polishing, fine surface refinement, and edge radius control.
Tighter process control – parameters can be optimized through barrel speed, media selection, and compound choice for repeatable results.
Low part-on-part contact – reduces scratching, protects critical surfaces, and improves consistency for precision components.
Compact, high-energy design – delivers more finishing energy per cubic inch than large tumblers, saving floor space while maintaining high output.
You can use a wide range of finishing media depending on the process objective:
Ceramic media – for aggressive deburring, edge rounding, and heavy cut-down
Plastic media – ideal for soft metals and controlled, low-aggression finishing
Stainless steel media – for burnishing, densification, and bright polishing
Organic media (corn cob, walnut shell, etc.) – for drying, dewatering, and light polishing
In addition, compounds (liquid or powder) are commonly used to enhance cleaning, provide lubrication, control corrosion/foaming, and improve polishing performance.
Routine maintenance helps ensure long-term reliability and consistent finishing quality:
Clean the barrels regularly to prevent residue and compound buildup.
Inspect seals, gaskets, and barrel lids for wear, leakage, or deformation.
Check drive belts, bearings, and motors every few weeks and correct any abnormal noise, vibration, or misalignment early.
Replace worn media on schedule to maintain stable cutting action and repeatable results.
Verify and calibrate speed settings to ensure the machine matches your approved process specifications and quality targets.
Model selection is driven by three factors: batch weight per cycle, largest part dimension, and target throughput per shift.
CB30 / CB36 range (30–36 L, 2.2 kW): jewelry, dental, small precision hardware. Batch weight typically 2–8 kg of parts. Highest G-force (up to 20 G) in the range — best for ultra-fine finishing with superfine porcelain or plastic media.
CB60 / CB80 (60–80 L, 4–5.5 kW): mid-size precision components, small automotive parts, medical instruments. Batch weight 8–25 kg.
CB120 / CB160 (120–160 L, 5.5–11 kW): production-scale precision finishing; larger machined parts, small castings, aerospace components. Batch weight 30–60 kg.
CB200 / CB320 (200–320 L, 11 kW): large industrial components, gear parts, large castings. Batch weight up to 100 kg. Lower G-force due to larger radius and lower speed — suitable for heavier, robust parts.
Key constraint: the total barrel volume (parts + media combined) should be 60–80% of rated barrel capacity. Share your part dimensions, material, batch weight target and required Ra, and we will confirm the right model within 24 hours.
